Privacy done right

Privacy, in plain English.

Hylete tracks your workouts so you can see your progress. That's it. This page explains what we keep, what we never do, and how to take your data with you.

The short version

  • We store only what the app needs to work: your account and the workouts, weigh-ins, photos, and goals you log.
  • We don't sell or share your data. We don't run ads or trackers.
  • We don't use third-party cookies.
  • We keep third parties to a minimum (hosting, database sync, and sending emails you asked for).
  • We don't want to store extra data — storing data costs us money.

What we store

  • Your account: name, email, and password (stored hashed, we can't read it).
  • Your training: exercise entries, weigh-ins, progress photos, goals, and reminder preferences.
  • Feedback you choose to send us.

If you didn't type it in or log it in the app, we don't have it.

What we never do

  • No selling or sharing your data with anyone else.
  • No advertising, analytics trackers, or third-party cookies.
  • No collecting data "just in case". Every field we store exists because a feature needs it.

Third parties

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the service — hosting, database sync, and sending transactional emails such as password resets and the reminders you turn on. They only process what's needed to deliver those functions, and never for advertising.

Your control

  • Export everything at any time from the Data Export page (exercise entries and weigh-ins, including photos).
  • Delete your account and all of its data at any time from the danger zone at the bottom of your Profile page (web app). Export first from the Data Export page to keep a copy — deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

AI Privacy

All AI features (called Coach) are entirely opt-in and can be disabled at any time.

  • No data is ever sent to AI models or LLMs without your express consent — AI is off by default.
  • If you opt in, your training data is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI solely to generate your weekly review. It is not used for advertising and is not sold or shared.
  • You can opt out again at any time. Opting out stops all future AI processing — no new data is sent and no new reviews are generated.
  • We prefer open-source models for AI features — these typically run self-hosted — but we don't guarantee it.
  • We continually test new models, including proprietary ones, to improve your reviews. Your data only ever goes to whichever model is current, and only while you're opted in.
  • Past weekly reviews stay visible unless you delete your account from your Profile page, which removes them along with everything else.
